Job summary

Royal Mail Group is recruiting a Postie in Shrewsbury to join our team for a fixed-term 6‑month contract. You will work 30 hours per week across 5 days in 7, including Sundays, with a 13:45–20:15 shift. Full training provided, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van will be supplied.

Duties include sorting, delivering letters and parcels, and serving customers in the community. The role is physically demanding and outdoors, with overtime available.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Reliability and self-motivation are essential.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances and lifting mailbags.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and communities.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
