Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Abertillery is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term six-month contract to deliver letters and parcels in the local area. The role involves a 37-hour week, rotating shifts, and weekend work, with a starting hourly rate of £13.68 and paid overtime.

You will sort mail at the delivery office, drive a Royal Mail van daily, and interact with customers while working outdoors in all weather conditions. Full training and a uniform are provided.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and carry 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
