Job summary

St Mary Queen of Martyrs VC Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Achievement Support Assistant (L2 TA) to support teaching and learning, with a focus on our most vulnerable pupils, including those with SEND and/or social and emotional needs.

The role is 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 2 training days, across the school to provide social, emotional, and academic support, and to deliver targeted interventions while ensuring the safety and welfare of the children throughout the day.

Qualifications

• experience supporting pupils including SEND
• ability to establish productive relationships with children
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• well-organised, flexible and creative
• commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

Responsibilities

• support teaching staff with children’s social, emotional and academic progress
• deliver interventions to enhance pupils’ learning
• provide supervision and care of children at various times of the day
• work across the school to support pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND
