Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary Academy is seeking a caring, reliable, calm and skilled person to support the teaching of the curriculum through high-quality classroom assistance. You will follow the class teacher's direction and work to improve learning, educational progress and personal development.

The role involves supporting pupils individually or in groups, modelling high expectations, meeting personal needs and facilitating access to specialist provision as indicated by IEP or EHCP.

Qualifications

• Work with individual or groups of pupils to support learning as directed by the teacher
• Support working relationships with pupils, modelling high expectations
• Meet the personal and physical needs of pupils whilst encouraging independence
• Facilitate pupil access to specialist provision as indicated by the pupil's IEP or EHCP
• Develop a range of learning support materials and resources (adapting where appropriate) for individual pupil needs (e.g., English and Maths)
• Work with individuals or groups of pupils in the use of IT to support learning
• Monitor and give feedback on progress of pupils against their plan objectives
