Trial Balance is partnering with a highly regarded accountancy practice in Exeter to recruit an Accounts Technician to join its friendly and collaborative team.

You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, preparing year-end accounts, VAT returns and tax returns, while developing your technical skills in a supportive firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to work with a diverse client portfolio, whilst continuing to develop their technical skills within a successful and growing firm.

As an Accounts Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting bookkeeping assignments where required
• Assisting with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
• Building strong relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day accounting queries
• Working closely with senior colleagues to deliver a consistently high standard of client service

The successful Accounts Technician candidate will:

Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and be confident preparing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.

AAT qualifications would be advantageous, although applications are equally welcomed from candidates who are qualified by experience or currently studying towards ACA or ACCA.

Strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines will all be key to success in this role.
