Job summary

Trial Balance are working with a well-established accountancy practice near Sherborne, seeking an Accounts Technician to join the team in their office. This role offers a broad mix of accounts preparation, bookkeeping and direct client contact.

You will prepare year-end accounts for a varied client base, manage bookkeeping and VAT tasks, and support clients with ongoing accounting needs while building strong client relationships and collaborating with colleagues to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment.
• Good grounding across accounts preparation and bookkeeping.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Completing bookkeeping assignments and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting clients with ongoing accounting requirements.
• Dealing directly with clients and responding to queries in a professional manner.
• Assisting with tax and other compliance work as required.
• Building strong relationships with clients and developing an understanding of their businesses.

As Accounts Technician, your responsibilities will include:

As Accounts Technician, you'll bring:

Previous experience gained within an accountancy practice environment, together with a good grounding across accounts preparation and bookkeeping.

You'll be confident working independently, organised in your approach and comfortable dealing directly with clients. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to support the wider team will all be important.
