Job summary

Howett Thorpe in Fleet is seeking an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to run a broad client portfolio, review accounts and tax work, and supervise a small team. You will work directly with the partners and help ensure timely, high-quality service across accounts and tax work.

The role combines hands-on accounting with leadership responsibilities, supporting junior colleagues while contributing to the firm's growth and maintaining a relaxed, collaborative working environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience reviewing accounts and tax work.
• Experience supervising or managing junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Oversee personal and corporation tax computations.
• Review work produced by the team and resolve technical issues.
• Support junior staff and manage workloads with the partners.
