Job summary

Howett Thorpe in Farnham is seeking an Accounts Senior to join our established practice. The role covers statutory accounts, corporation tax and day-to-day client support across a range of sectors, with a varied workload and opportunities to grow as the firm expands.

You will deliver accurate accounts work, keep clients informed and help resolve queries, working with colleagues to ensure assignments progress smoothly and to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years UK accountancy practice experience.
• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of statutory accounts and corporation tax.
• Ability to interpret financial information and produce accurate work.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating with clients and handling queries.
• The ability to manage deadlines and balance priorities.
• A dependable, proactive approach and a genuine interest in providing good client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a range of business clients.
• Complete corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring relevant requirements are met.
• Review financial information and working papers, following up on discrepancies where necessary.
• Liaise with clients to obtain records, clarify figures and resolve accounting queries.
• Provide practical support on routine accounting matters and software-related questions.
• Manage your own workload and keep assignments on track against agreed deadlines.
• Assist with more involved client assignments and additional project work when required.
• Work alongside colleagues to maintain consistent standards and improve the quality of service provided.
