Job summary

DPC Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join the Stoke-on-Trent team. The role involves preparing year-end accounts, financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns, with client liaison and ongoing bookkeeping support.

Ideal candidates hold AAT Level 3 or 4 or are studying towards AAT/ACA/ACCA, have practice experience, and are familiar with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or IRIS. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous accountancy practice experience – essential.

Accounts Semi Senior

DPC Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, are looking to appoint an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who is AAT Level 3 or 4 qualified/studying and looking to develop their career within a well-established accountancy firm.

The Role

• Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements
• Producing management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with bookkeeping and general accounts work
• Dealing with client queries and building strong client relationships
• Supporting more senior members of the team
• Working across a range of accounting software, including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks

The Person

• AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or currently studying towards AAT/ACA/ACCA
• Previous accountancy practice experience – essential
• Experience preparing accounts and VAT returns
• Good technical accounting knowledge
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to develop
• Experience with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or IRIS would be advantageous
