Job summary

DPC Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, is recruiting an Accounts Semi-Senior to join the growing team in Stoke-on-Trent. The role sits in the Early Careers department and involves handling a portfolio of clients with duties across year-end accounts, management accounts and VAT submissions.

Ideal candidates will have AAT Level 3/4 or be studying towards ACA/ACCA, plus practice experience and strong communication skills. Proficiency with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or IRIS is advantageous.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 or 4, or studying towards AAT/ACA/ACCA.
• Experience in accountancy practice is essential.
• Experience preparing accounts and VAT returns.
• Good technical accounting knowledge.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive and willing to develop.

Responsibilities

Job description

DPC Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, are looking to appoint an Accounts Semi-Senior to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent.

Department: Early Careers

Location: Uttoxeter

Compensation: £0 - £18 / month

The Role

As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will work closely with a portfolio of clients and be responsible for:

• Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements
• Producing management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with bookkeeping and general accounts work
• Dealing with client queries and building strong client relationships
• Supporting more senior members of the team
• Working across a range of accounting software, including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks

The Person

We are looking for someone with:

• AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or currently studying towards AAT/ACA/ACCA
• Previous accountancy practice experience – essential
• Experience preparing accounts and VAT returns
• Good technical accounting knowledge
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to develop
• Experience with Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or IRIS would be advantageous
