Job summary

IT Professional Services Limited is seeking a Finance Assistant – Accounts Receivable to join a small, fast-paced finance team in the United Kingdom. You’ll manage AR for 400 customer accounts, ensure timely payments, and support reporting to senior leadership while collaborating with sales, operations and service teams.

The role emphasizes cash collection, credit risk assessment, and process improvements within Halo PSA, Business Central and Sage200 environments.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts receivable experience, ideally in a fast-paced SME or tech environment.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, debt recovery, and credit risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and client relationship-building skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying and solving issues in finance processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables) and familiarity with Finance/ERP systems.
• Ability to prioritise, work independently and manage workload with high accuracy.
• Confidential handling of sensitive information and data.

Responsibilities

• Invoice and ledger management for 400 customer accounts.
• Maintain accurate records in Finance systems and allocate payments.
• Collaborate with billing, account managers and service desk to resolve discrepancies.
• Issue statements, reminders and overdue notices per ITPS procedures.
• Produce weekly reports for the Head of Finance and support month/year-end close.
• Assist with annual financial audit and year-end processes.
• Monitor debtor balances and ensure timely collections; follow up on overdue invoices.
• Negotiate repayment plans and escalate issues as needed.
