Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited in Newton Aycliffe is seeking an organised Accounts Receivable Specialist on a two-year fixed-term contract. This office-based role focuses on the Order-to-Cash and billing activities, raising invoices, allocating payments, monitoring balances and maintaining accurate customer and financial records.

You'll work with the wider Finance team to ensure timely cash collection, produce aged debt reporting and provide ad hoc accounts payable support as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of Accounts Receivable processes and practices.
• Experience within a manufacturing or project-based business.
• Strong attention to detail and a professional, reliable approach.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to work from our Newton Aycliffe office.
• Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system would be advantageous, as would an understanding of Accounts Payable processes.
• Awareness of workplace health and safety, equal opportunities and CSR policies would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Raise and issue customer invoices and credit notes
• Verify sales invoice applications and create accurate sales invoices
• Generate recharge and other invoices for Hitachi group companies
• Monitor incoming payments and ensure they are allocated promptly and accurately
• Review outstanding payments and support the resolution of payment queries
• Produce and maintain aged debt reporting
• Manage the Accounts Receivable mailbox and respond to queries
• Create and maintain accurate customer master data
• Scan, file and retain invoices and other financial documentation
• Maintain complete and accurate records in line with company policies and accepted accounting practices
• Provide ad hoc Accounts Payable support to the wider Finance team when required
