Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist oversees the full AR process to ensure timely and accurate collection of receivables. This includes invoicing, payment application, reconciliation, and collections, while maintaining positive customer relationships and resolving payment issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full AR process, including billing, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor customer accounts for overdue balances and irregularities.
  • Proactively contact customers to investigate and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and disputes.
  • Maintain records of collection activities and communications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Prepare AR aging reports and escalate problematic accounts.
  • Recommend accounts for collection or write-off.
  • Assist with month-end closing and audits.
  • Seek process improvements to enhance AR efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of receivables/collections experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of AR processes and construction invoicing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential info.
  • Ability to pass drug screens and background checks.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in construction industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Experience with ComputerEase software.
  • Teamwork experience.
  • B2B collections experience, especially with contractors and developers.
  • Understanding of industry-specific collection challenges and contract terms.
  • Experience with government contracts.
Workdays & Shifts
  • Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm.
  • May require outside hours.
Education/Certifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
