Job summary

Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) is growing and seeking an Accounts Receivable Administrator to join the Finance team in Hessle, HU13. The role focuses on credit control, managing a book of debtors, and ensuring timely payments from customers.

You will liaise with Sales and Customer Services, update records in the financial system, and support other finance functions as needed. A proactive, organised approach and strong IT skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Prior experience of working in a credit control / accounts receivable function.
• Comfortable with IT.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Be organised, methodical, self-motivated, and driven.

Responsibilities

• Take a proactive role in managing and supporting company credit control by taking responsibility for own book of debtor accounts.
• Use all forms of communication (email, letters, and telephone) to contact debtors and ensure payment of outstanding invoices.
• Support credit checking new customers and open new credit accounts with relevant information.
• Support and resolve problems in the credit control function including copies of invoices and proof of delivery.
• Work with Sales and Customer Services to resolve customer queries and progress matters.
• Report to the Accounts Office Manager on outstanding issues and potential debtors’ problems.
• Help manage the SLS ledger email inbox and route enquiries to Finance and other departments.
• Maintain financial system records and enter data accurately.
• Perform general clerical duties as required.
