Job summary

Scientific Laboratory Supplies Ltd in Hessle, near Hull, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Administrator to join our finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will support credit control for a busy book of debtors and liaise with customers and vendors to ensure timely payments.

The ideal candidate will have experience in credit control or accounts receivable, strong IT and numeracy, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take a proactive role in managing and supporting company credit control by taking responsibility for own book of debtor accounts.
• Use all forms of communication (email, letters, and telephone) to contact debtors and ensure payment of outstanding invoices.
• Support the ongoing process of credit checking new customers and open new credit accounts ensuring the company has all the relevant information.
• Support and resolve problems in the credit control function including providing copy invoices and obtaining proof of delivery.
• Work closely with Sales and Customer Services to resolve customer queries and progress matters to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Report regularly to the Accounts Office Manager on outstanding issues and inform them of potential debtors’ problems.
• Help colleagues manage the “slsledger” email inbox and pass enquiries to Finance or other departments for resolution.
• Maintain financial system records and enter data accurately.
• Perform general clerical duties as required.
