Job summary

JH Recruitment & Consultancy has partnered with a successful manufacturing business in Leeds to recruit an experienced Sales Ledger / Credit Control Assistant to join its finance team. This hands-on role focuses on accuracy and timely processing within a busy environment.

Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, you will manage invoices, payments, reconciliations and credit checks, supporting the close process and helping the team hit targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales ledger and/or credit control in a busy environment.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP.
• Experience processing payments and reconciling customer accounts.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue customer invoices including consolidated billing.
• Process and allocate incoming customer payments.
• Investigate outstanding and unallocated payments; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly sales ledger close and reconciliations.
• Process credit notes, discounts and account adjustments.
• Perform credit checks and assist with opening new customer accounts.
• Support credit control across smaller accounts.
• Respond to customer queries and resolve account issues.
• Help the team meet targets and deadlines.
