Job summary

Nigel Wright is supporting a North Yorkshire based organisation in the search for an Accounts Receivable Controller on a temporary basis. The role offers hybrid working and will run for an initial 3 months.

The successful candidate will manage the credit control process, monitor aged debt, allocate payments, reconcile accounts and ensure timely invoicing. Strong Excel skills and a proactive, target-driven approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant credit control experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of sales ledger processes.
• Ability to reduce debt without compromising customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manage the credit control process across a high-volume ledger.
• Monitor aged debt and deliver against collection targets and KPIs.
• Allocate payments and remittances accurately.
• Reconcile debtor and control accounts.
• Ensure invoices and credit notes are accurate, authorised and issued on time.
• Maintain reliable records of rates, contract terms and billing arrangements.
• Investigate billing discrepancies, unbilled income and changes affecting charges.
• Resolve queries while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Strengthen policies and procedures covering income, sales ledger and aged debt.
• Support revenue reporting and cash-flow forecasting.
