Job summary

Time Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Wilmslow, Cheshire, seeks an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor to own the purchase ledger function and lead a small team. Based in a modern office, you will ensure supplier payments are processed accurately and on time, while supporting month-end activities and driving improvements within accounts payable.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role offers a clear path for progression within a growing finance team and a supportive, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable roles.
• Experience supervising or mentoring a team.
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, reconciliations and payment runs.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel and finance systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function.
• Supervise, support and develop Purchase Ledger Assistants.
• Ensure all supplier invoices are accurately processed and authorised.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries promptly.
• Manage weekly and monthly payment runs.
• Monitor invoice approval workflows and ensure deadlines are met.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier disputes.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with month-end processes, accruals and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the accounts payable function.
• Support audits and provide information as required.
