Job summary

Time Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor to lead and manage the purchase ledger function based in Wilmslow. You will report to the Finance Manager, own the ledger, and ensure supplier payments are processed accurately and on time while guiding a small team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable position.
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members.
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, reconciliations and payment runs.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Desirable: AAT qualification or studying towards an accounting qualification.
• Desirable: Experience using ERP systems such as Sage, Dynamics, SAP or NetSuite.
• Desirable: Experience within a multi-site or high-volume invoice environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function.
• Supervise, support and develop Purchase Ledger Assistants.
• Ensure all supplier invoices are accurately processed and authorised.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries promptly.
• Manage weekly and monthly payment runs.
• Monitor invoice approval workflows and ensure deadlines are met.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier disputes.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with month-end processes, accruals and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the accounts payable function.
• Support audits and provide information as required.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensuring supplier payments are processed accurately and on time while leading and supporting a small team.
