Morgan McKinley (South West) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead a high-volume AP function in a UK-based finance team. The role focuses on driving process improvements, ensuring robust financial controls, and developing a high-performing team to support month-end processes and stakeholder reporting.

You will report to the Finance Manager, oversee day-to-day AP operations, and collaborate with suppliers and internal partners to deliver accurate and timely payments.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience within Accounts Payable.
• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and financial controls.
• Experience managing high-volume invoice processing.
• Good understanding of ERP systems and financial software.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Accounts Payable team, managing workloads and performance.
• Ensure accurate processing of purchase ledger and subcontractor ledger transactions.
• Maintain strong financial controls and mitigate risk across the AP function.
• Support month-end close activities and reporting deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to maximise performance.

The Role
