Job summary

GAC UK is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant in Grangemouth to support and maintain the purchase ledger with accurate coding and timely supplier payments. You will process high volumes of invoices, reconcile suppliers, and coordinate BACS payments while covering holidays and assisting the Finance team.

Two years of fast-paced office experience and strong communication are essential. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and initiative within a global shipping and logistics context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchase ledger or similar experience.
• Minimum of two years' experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications preferred.
• Ability to work well within a team and to own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing of high volumes of purchase invoices.
• Coding of overhead invoices and coordinating authorisation.
• Completing supplier reconciliations.
• Accurately maintaining the purchase ledger.
• Arranging supplier payments, including preparing BACS payment runs and arranging overseas payments.
• Providing holiday cover for team members.
• Additional ad-hoc duties to support the Finance Department.
