Job summary

West Bay RI is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to maintain accurate financial records, process payments, and support payroll and accounting functions. The role requires attention to detail, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll review invoices, process payments, reconcile statements, and provide backup payroll support while maintaining confidentiality and accurate records for a busy organization with a $30 million annual budget.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices for accuracy and approvals before processing payments.
• Process invoices and prepare/ distribute checks and electronic payments (EFT/ACH).
• Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies with vendors/internal teams.
• Prepare weekly deposits and garnishment checks.
• Maintain AP records, reports, and filing systems.
• Provide payroll processing backup and other accounting support.
