Job summary

SSE PLC is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Glasgow area. The role combines specialist AP activities with guidance and oversight to ensure accurate, compliant processes while supporting colleagues across the business.

Key responsibilities include tax processing, procurement-to-pay enhancements, vendor onboarding and reconciliation, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. A flexible first, permanent role with a base in Glasgow Eurocentral is offered.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a complex Accounts Payable function.
• Awareness of AP regulations, procedures and controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support and oversight across Accounts Payable activities.
• Manage specialist tax processes (RCT, CIS, DRC).
• Oversee Purchase Ledger and E-Trading maintenance.
• Train and coach colleagues on AP processes.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and partners.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and governance requirements.
