Job summary

SSE is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide expert support across specialist AP activities in a hybrid role with a base in Glasgow. You will oversee tax processes, P2P enhancements, and vendor onboarding while building strong supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with SOPs and controls.

The role requires substantial AP experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to improving processes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a complex Accounts Payable function.
• Awareness of AP principles, practices, regulations and procedures.
• Excellent customer service with strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to contribute positively to the AP function direction.
• Risk awareness and ability to mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

• Specialist tax processes, including RCT, CIS and DRC.
• Purchase Card processes and controls.
• Enhanced Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, including consolidated invoices, M4Apps and self-billing.
• Joint Venture, international and other exception-based processes.
• Purchase Ledger and E-Trading maintenance.
• Providing training, coaching and guidance to colleagues.
