Job summary

Deverell Smith is working exclusively with a well-established real estate group to appoint an Accounts Payable Manager. You'll lead the AP team and own the full purchase-to-pay process across a diverse property portfolio, managing supplier payments and month-end accruals in a multi-entity environment.

The role offers a competitive salary (£40,000 - £45,000) + benefits and is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an AP or purchase ledger team.
• Real estate, property management or multi-entity experience is a strong advantage.
• Confidence with high invoice volumes and tight deadlines.
• Hands-on, organised style with drive to improve processes.
• Strong systems proficiency, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Managing and developing a small AP team, setting priorities and deadlines.
• Overseeing accurate and timely payment of suppliers and contractors, including property, service charge and capital project invoices.
• Running supplier statement reconciliations, payment runs and month-end accruals.
• Strengthening controls, approval workflows and compliance across multiple entities.
• Leading process improvements and getting the best out of the finance systems.
• Acting as the go-to contact for suppliers, property managers and the wider finance team.
