Job summary

The Wernick Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join the Head Office in Wickford, Essex. You will oversee the AP function across multiple group companies, manage staff, and ensure timely supplier payments within terms.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience within Accounts Payable.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced in Excel and familiar with accounts software packages.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval workflows, and payment runs, and staff management.
• Ensure invoices are processed accurately and within agreed payment terms.
• Update existing procedures and test all new or amended systems and processes within the AP department.
• Complete monthly end routines, reconciliations and reports on time.
• Run weekly BACS payments for all Group companies.
• Liaise with Supply Chain to build good supplier relationships.
• Ensure timely entry of Direct Debit/cheque payments onto the system by the team.
• Submit CIS tax payments to HMRC monthly.
• Collate and report payment data to management.
