Job summary

RG Consultancy in Pontefract is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the UK accounts function with a primary focus on accounts payable and supplier invoices. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to develop your skills and gain broader exposure across the finance function.

The role offers training and study support towards AAT qualifications, with hybrid working available after a successful induction.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable or an Accounts Assistant role.
• Good IT skills and confidence using accounting systems.
• Experience with Sage would be beneficial, alongside knowledge of other accounting packages.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and code supplier invoices.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs.
• Post financial transactions and maintain accounting records.
• Assist with month-end procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with sales ledger duties and allocate customer receipts.
