Job summary

RG Consultancy are assisting a well-established SME in Stockport to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a full-time permanent basis. The role offers a development path across all areas of accounts, with study support for AAT and flexible working hours.

A small finance team reports to the Finance Manager, with SAP and Excel used daily to manage financial data. The position suits someone studying AAT who wants to grow their experience in purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations and payment runs

Qualifications

• Studying AAT level 2 or 3 with willingness for progression.
• Some previous experience in accounts, purchase ledger or similar role.
• Strong IT skills including accounting packages and MS Excel; SAP would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain purchase ledger transactions and supplier accounts.
• Manage sales ledger, including raising invoices and allocating customer payments.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Process and prepare payment runs in line with company procedures.
• Ensure invoices and payments are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts and resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end processes.
• Use SAP to process and maintain accounting transactions.
• Use Microsoft Excel to manage, analyse and reconcile financial data.
• Work closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams to resolve payment and invoice queries.
• Ensure all financial information is accurate, complete and up to date.
• Provide general support to the wider finance team as required.
