Job summary

Clark Wood in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join a leading accountancy firm. You will take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services while developing junior staff.

You will work closely with Directors and Partners on technical matters and play a key role in business development within a supportive, forward-thinking firm.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CA qualified or equivalent.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients within an accountancy practice.
• Experience with clients across various industries.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members.
• Autonomous with ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
• Commercially aware with a proactive client service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Managing a diverse portfolio of clients with a high level of responsibility.
• Overseeing team portfolios and supporting workflow planning.
• Delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients with proactive guidance.
• Reviewing work and ensuring assignments meet high standards.
• Supporting Directors and Partners on technical matters.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients.
• Coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Contributing to revenue and profitability targets.
