RG Consultancy in Wilmslow, England, is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager for a hands-on, hybrid role overseeing the day-to-day finance function.

You will manage purchase ledger, sales, cash flow, month-end, and statutory reporting while supporting growth. AAT or ACCA/CIMA in progress and strong Excel are desirable; this role offers study support and onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Manager or senior accounts role.
• Strong SME finance background and month-end processes.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function.
• Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control.
• Take ownership of the month-end process, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and debtor balances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, VAT returns and financial controls.
• Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Provide financial information and support to the Financial Director.

Salary: GBP40000 - GBP42000 per annum

RG Consultancy are working with an established and growing SME who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Manager.

Reporting directly to the Financial Director, this is a hands‑on, varied role overseeing the day‑to‑day finance function. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the smooth running of the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and effective cash management, while supporting the business's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function
• Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
• Take ownership of the month‑end process, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L reports and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and debtor balances
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis

Experience & Skills

• Previous experience in an Accounts Manager, Finance Manager or Senior Accounts role
• Strong all-round accounts experience within an SME environment
• Good knowledge of management accounts and month‑end processes
• Experience overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
• AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or qualified by experience
• Strong Excel and accounting systems knowledge
• Commercially aware, organised and detail-focused
• Confident communicator with the ability to work across the business
• A hands‑on approach and the ability to work independently
• Experience within IT, technology or a service‑based business would be advantageous but is not essential
