The role focuses on regulatory reporting, internal controls, and driving efficient month-end processes in a London/Greater London setting. The candidate should have strong leadership, solid accounting knowledge, and hands-on experience with Sage 50 Cloud, payroll, and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as Financial Manager/Controller.
• Educated to degree standard (desirable).
• ACCA or CIMA qualification desirable (part-qual).
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience with general ledger and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of five in finance.
• Support Finance Director with regulatory and financial reporting.
• Develop internal control policies and procedures.
• Produce monthly management accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Oversee payroll, client invoicing, supplier payments.
• Manage VAT, PAYE, CIS and Corporation tax payments.
• Assist cash flow management and budgeting.
• Support year-end close and annual audit.

Job description

Reporting to the Finance Director, we are looking for a dynamic Finance Manager to support the FD with strategic decision making and lead the finance team operations. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person with a “can-do” attitude and a proven ability to lead a team.

JOB DUTIES

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of five colleagues in the finance team. Work with the Finance Director on regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

• Production of Monthly management accounts for company with a very good understanding of departmental accounts.
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly.
• Oversee and ensure weekly staff payroll and client invoicing is processed to ensure weekly deadlines are met.
• Oversee and ensure weekly supplier payments are processed.
• Ensure VAT, PAYE, CIS and Corporation tax is processed and paid accurately and on time.
• Manage all bank reconciliations
• Manage petty cash, credit card expenses and cash expenses
• Manage the invoice discounting facility
• Assist cash flow management
• Assist with the budging process
• Support year-end close process
• Support Finance Director with the annual audit.
• Fixed Asset Management and Accounting (including fleet of Business vehicles)
• Maintain Hire Purchase schedule and record interest payments.
• Ad hoc reporting to Finance Director
• Assist FD in continually reviewing business processes and internal controls.

Candidate requirements

• 2+ years working experience as a Financial Manager/Controller
• Strong team Leadership and management skills
• Educated to degree standard (desirable)
• ACCA or CIMA qualified (desirable- must be part qual)
• IT savvy with strong excel skills
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Experience of Sage 50 Cloud accounting software desirable
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
