Job summary

Howett Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Ltd is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior aiming to progress to Accounts Manager within a growing practice. You will own a varied client portfolio, review accounts and working papers, and work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver assignments from start to finish.

The role offers stepping up responsibilities, supervisory duties for junior staff, and opportunities to develop advisory skills while managing client relationships and deadlines.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or nearing qualification.
• Strong UK accountancy practice experience.
• Experience reviewing accounts and working papers.
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102.
• Experience managing a client portfolio.
• Experience reviewing corporation tax computations.
• Group accounts experience advantageous.
• Deferred tax experience beneficial.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Experience supervising/junior staff.
• Proficient with CCH or similar software.
• Excellent organisational and deadline management.
• Ambition to progress to Accounts Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of clients including groups.
• Review statutory accounts and working papers.
• Review complex accounts under FRS 102.
• Review draft corporation tax computations.
• Supervise and develop junior team members.
• Act as main client contact.
• Advise on accounting matters and client needs.
• Manage deadlines, budgets and workflow.
• Collaborate with Managers and Partners on complex assignments.
• Take increasing responsibility for team and client portfolio.
