Are you a detail orientated Accounts Assistant or Administrator within a Finance Team? Are you looking for the next step in your career? Do you enjoy the varied nature of working in a family business. At Major Owen's we are looking for a highly organised and talented Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts team.

We are currently undergoing a digital transformation project to modernise systems, processes and embrace new technologies. The Accounts team will play an integral part in ensure the success of the project.

️About the Role

Invoice Processing: Process Supplier Invoices and other financial transactions using our Dealer Management Software (IBCOS GOLD).

Day to Day Transactional Posting: Ensure Accuracy and Matching Invoices to GRN's and Purchase Orders, including matching Sales Ledger Transactions and Invoices.

Managing Expenses & Petty Cash: Running the Daily Till Balance and managing petty cash expenses and recording receipts.

Statement Reconciling: Reconciling Monthly Supplier statements to our system in a timely and effective manner.

Credit Control: Chasing outstanding customer payments and taking payment over the phone.

Month End: Ensuring a timely and accurate close to the month end ledgers.

Customer & Supplier Relationships: Being a key point of contact for dealing with Customer and Supplier Enquiries.

Championing Digital: Working closely with the Finance & Strategy Director to implement Technology which will improve accounting processes.

What we are looking for:

Experienced Accounts Assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience, who is looking to take the next step in their careers and help shape the future of the finance team.

Highly Focused and Detailed Orientated person who will be able to work with little supervision and a track record of effectively processing Invoices and reconciling.

Extremely Organised individual with the ability to manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control.

Professionally Qualified (AAT or other) or Qualified by Experience would be preferred or willing to work towards professional qualifications.

Month End Process understanding and experience is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, particularly in Excel.
