We're looking for a Accounts Assistant join our team in Kings Hill, West Malling- this is a 12-month fixed term contract with potential to extend.

The Accounts Assistant plays a pivotal role within Westfalia Fruit's UK finance team, fostering and developing relationships within the internal finance structure. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records are maintained, assisting the credit control team on a frequent basis and supporting across various parts of the commercial team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administer customer receivables and support Accounts Payable with payment reconciliations.
  • Accurately post daily bank receipts to ensure up-to-date financial records.
  • Resolve invoice queries promptly and professionally.
  • Generate and distribute customer statements as required.
  • Set up and maintain customer accounts with complete and accurate information.
  • Provide ad hoc credit control support, including contacting customers regarding overdue payments.
  • Review daily EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) reports and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary reports and documentation.
  • Liaise with customers and the commercial team to resolve invoice queries and respond to Proof of Delivery (POD) requests in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to process improvements.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in FMCG, food production, manufacturing or retail environments.
  • Accounts experience would be advantageous.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience would be desirable.
