Job summary

Hedin Automotive is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the Accounts team and support financial operations, including ledgers, reconciliations and reporting. Working with an experienced team, you will help ensure accurate processing and timely information within a busy dealership environment.

The role is fully office-based in London, offering exposure to the automotive sector and opportunities to develop accounting knowledge while contributing to process improvements and daily finance tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Studying towards an Accountancy qualification or AAT.
• Kerridge/Drive knowledge is advantageous.
• Proficient in Excel with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Processing daily bank payments and receipts while maintaining accurate ledgers.
• Reconciling bank and vehicle funding accounts.
• Managing vehicle purchase ledger accounts.
• Preparing month-end reconciliations and supporting nominal ledger processes.
• Producing weekly and monthly financial reports, analysis, and cashflow information.
• Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal processing.
• Using advanced Excel functions to analyse financial data.
• Identifying and resolving reporting errors while supporting process improvements.
• Providing general finance team support and ad hoc duties.

THE MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

• Processing daily bank payments and receipts while maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers
• Reconciling bank and vehicle funding accounts

• Providing general support to the finance team and undertaking ad hoc duties as required

  YOUR PROFILE.

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Ideally studying towards an Accountancy qualification or part/full AAT qualified (or equivalent accounting qualification)
  • Motor trade experience would be advantageous, as would a working knowledge of Kerridge/Drive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team

  SALARY AND HOURS.

  • £27,000 per annum
  • Working hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
  • The Accounts Assistant role is fully office based
