My client, a leading international bank, is seeking an experienced Accounting Policy Specialist to join their team. This role will hold both accountability and responsibility for the development, interpretation, and application of the company’s and its branches’ accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert technical accounting advice across all areas of the business.
• Collaborate closely with Front Office teams to advise on accounting implications of business activities, including new and upcoming changes in accounting standards.
• Offer guidance on accounting policies related to new products, transactions, restructurings, and complex deals.
• Deliver training sessions to both front and back office teams on emerging accounting developments.
• Engage proactively with external auditors on policy-related issues.
• Develop and issue accounting policies in accordance with IFRS.
• Advise on consolidation and classification matters for reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, and US GAAP.
• Review financial disclosures and support Financial Reporting teams to ensure compliance with current accounting standards and best practices.
• Represent the Group at industry forums to both share and gather insights on market practices.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.
