The Individual

Are you an experienced financial reporting specialist with a passion to excel, deliver exceptional quality, and drive growth and change? If so, then this role is for you.

The Role

RSM’s audit technical department (NATS) provides technical support to RSM’s audit and financial advisory services business lines. A subset of NATS is the financial reporting specialist team, which provides support on technical accounting and reporting matters. We are looking for an individual with strong financial and narrative reporting skills who has experience dealing with complex financial reporting matters and reviewing premium or standard listed company annual reports. The role involves:

• Working independently and as part of a team
• Mentoring junior personnel and developing their technical and communication skills
• Contributing to the strategic and operational development of the department
• Working under time pressure and tight deadlines

Responsibilities

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Technical pre-clearance reviews on annual reports for high-risk audit clients
• Acting as a financial reporting specialist on high-risk audit clients (dependent on skills)
• Providing technical advice on complex accounting and financial reporting matters
• Leading a sub-team on financial and narrative reporting projects
• Signing off on technical advice provided by junior team members
• Using technical skills to develop the firm’s brand
• Proposing and reviewing internal technical communications, training materials, and guidance documents
• Recommending responses to regulatory changes
• Contributing comments to regulatory consultations
