Job summary

Sofitel Glasgow-based role in the UK finance team seeks an Accounting Manager for Balance Sheet & Audit. This senior position reports to the Financial Director and supports three hotels within the Accor portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth audits.

You will drive reconciliations, asset management, and statutory reporting while coordinating with hotel leaders and external auditors to strengthen financial processes.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CA) or actively studying toward one.
• Experience in financial accounting, auditing, or balance sheet management.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across several entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly balance sheet reconciliations across hotel entities.
• Ensure assets and liabilities are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Monitor internal controls and identify risks or discrepancies.
• Coordinate external audits, year-end accounts and statutory reporting.
• Prepare draft financial statements and consolidated reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with General Managers, Department Heads and auditors.
• Provide training on balance sheet processes and improvements.
