ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Accountant, Corporate Financial Accounting and Reporting is part of T. Rowe Price's Controller Group and is primarily responsible for the generation and review of accurate and timely recurring rebate calculations and funding to support the firm's Sponsored Product clients. Responsibilities also will include fee calculations and analysis of related invoices, providing research and guidance on new products, and providing customer service to our internal and external business partners. This role is also responsible for accurate accounting of revenue recorded to our ledger and recording and application of client receipts as it relates to invoicing.
The T. Rowe Price Controller's Group is a vital component of the CFO Group, responsible for overseeing rebate fee calculations, invoicing, and payment activities across a diverse range of client fee arrangements. These span the firm's advisory, institutional, and intermediary services, as well as other revenue reporting functions. Beyond ensuring excellence in calculation, accounting, and reporting across T. Rowe Price Group, its global subsidiaries, and branches, we actively collaborate with business partners to deliver high-quality financial information to our clients, global regulatory bodies, and stakeholders across the firm.

The role will focus on:
- Preparation, calculations, compliance, and oversight of rebate management for the business entities ensuring completeness, accuracy are acceptable at all times.
- Maintenance of accounting records, new business mandate and external rebates contracts.
- Monitoring of changes in the terms and condition of fees and rebates agreements with clients.
- Ensuring rebate accruals, payments, reconciliation, and financial controls are always effective.
- Providing customer service to our internal and external business partners.
- Data governance.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and report for the wider business usage.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Contributes to end-to-end rebate processes and client fee invoicing and completes research required to transform data into information for calculation and reporting purposes. Completes basic to moderately complex activities, including processing revenue calculation events and related transactions, reviewing data, management or regulatory reporting, generating rebate payments, client fee invoices and reconciling fee payment activity.
- Assists with continuous improvement activities such as the identification and analysis of exceptions; providing support for audits; completing assignments to support the maintenance of the control environment; fulfilling ad hoc requests in accordance with global, regional, and country-specific accounting, reporting, and process standards; and completing process improvements. May complete special project activities, as assigned.
- With general guidance, gathers, reconciles, and analyzes data to complete fee or rebate calculations, performs reconciliations, prepares daily reports, and supports analyses. Ensures accounting for fee calculations or rebates across the firm's legal entities and branches is accurate. Provide excellent customer service to our internal and external business partners.
- Activities are performed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. May review reconciliations completed by less experienced professionals. Identifies and escalates issues. Provides insight and potential ways to resolve the issue.
- Interprets basic to moderately complex fees schedules and contributes to the preparation of client effective rate and other analyses which provide reporting insights for use in oversight, process improvements or other management reporting or analyses. Collaborates with the other functions within the CFO group on financial reporting and various analyses related to revenues earned by the Group.
- Contributes to the implementation of financial system modifications to comply with new products, revised reporting, accounting, and accounting process policies, procedures, and more substantial regulatory changes.
- Contributes to the identifying and reporting risks, patterns, or recurring issues and working with all necessary stakeholders and technical teams to reach a resolution.
- Participates in assignments across lines of business, legal entities, and geographies that have an impact on new products, internal and external reporting, accounting, and accounting processes as a revenue subject matter expert in order to provide effective financial planning, accounting, and reporting of financial information for the Group, its subsidiaries or branches.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS- Ideally experience of asset management industry with involvement or understanding of fees and rebate calculations will be advantageous.
- Newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA). Finalist or part qualified accountant will also be considered with relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 5+ years of total relevant work experience.
- Experience of working as an accountant in a regulated environment.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Variance analysis, reconciliation, and management reporting.
- Works well independently and in a team environment; comfortable in a matrixed environment; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines across various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Experience with rebate management systems or ERP software is a plus.
- Able to work and deliver solution under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exposure to CASS will be beneficial.
