Job summary

Sewell Wallis Ltd is seeking a Senior/Semi-Senior Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice near Doncaster. The role involves preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and management accounts using Xero and QuickBooks. Hybrid working and flexible hours are offered, with 25 days leave and a company pension.

The successful candidate will have proven practice experience, strong organisation, and excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as an accounts semi-senior or senior accountant in practice.
• Audit experience desirable but not essential.
• Proficient with TaxCalc, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and staff.
• Proactive problem-solver with high accuracy.

Sewell Wallis are working with a well established accountancy practice based near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, who have an opportunity for a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant to join their supportive team.

What will you be doing?

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders & limited companies.
• Preparing self-assessment and corporation tax returns
• Preparing management accounts using accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks

What skills are we looking for?

• Proven work experience as an accounts semi-senior or senior accountant within a practice
• Audit experience is desirable but not essential
• Proficiency in using accounting software like Taxcalc, Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various clients and staff
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy
