Job summary

Si Recruitment is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join the Huddersfield office. You will work with owner-managed businesses and individuals, handling bookkeeping, accounts, and tax work, while building client relationships and supporting a growing portfolio.

The role offers development opportunities, study support for professional qualifications, and a team-focused environment in a regional practice setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS or Sage Business Cloud would be beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Professional, proactive and self-motivated approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients.

• Prepare statutory accounts and interim management accounts.
• Prepare personal tax returns, partnership accounts and partnership tax returns.
• Complete quarterly VAT returns.
• Support client meetings and liaise with directors and business owners.
• Assist with the training and development of junior team members.
• Undertake general accountancy and administrative duties as required.
• Company secretarial, payroll and P11D experience would be advantageous.

An established regional accountancy practice is looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant to join its Huddersfield office.
