Job summary

Austin Banks in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their practice, handling a varied portfolio of clients and delivering year end accounts and tax returns to review stage.

You will prepare year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, produce management accounts, liaise with clients, and support junior staff while working with managers and partners to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience as Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior in an accountancy practice.
• Proficiency with TaxCalc, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solving with high accuracy.
• Audit experience desirable.

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a practice accountant who enjoys variety, as you'll work across a diverse portfolio of sole traders and limited companies, preparing year end accounts and tax returns to review stage, along with management accounts for selected clients.

As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Preparing self-assessment and corporation tax returns to review stage
• Producing monthly or quarterly management accounts using software such as Xero and QuickBooks
• Liaising directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries
• Managing your own workload to meet deadlines across a varied client portfolio
• Working closely with managers and partners, and supporting junior team members where needed

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as an Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior within an accountancy practice
• Proficiency in accounting and tax software, including TaxCalc, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to high standards of accuracy
• Audit experience - desirable
