Job summary

A leading fresh produce business near Tonbridge, Kent, is seeking an Account Manager to manage day-to-day commercial relationships with retail accounts and growers. You will drive category plans, NPD, and sustainability initiatives while analysing data to identify growth opportunities.

Hybrid role based near Tonbridge; salary £45,000 p.a., 33 days leave, pension and share options, plus learning development and onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial or Account Manager in fresh produce, food, or FMCG.
• Deep understanding of fresh produce supply chains and UK retailer requirements.
• Ability to analyse sales, market and financial data.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial and operational relationships, overseeing volumes, profitability, OTIF, forecast accuracy, availability and waste.
• Act as the link between supply and demand, aligning retailer priorities with grower capabilities.
• Collaborate with UK retail buying, technical, supply chain and product development teams to shape category plans and seasonal programmes.
• Lead New Product Development from concept to launch with growers on new varieties and packaging formats.
• Use sales, financial and market data to identify growth opportunities, support negotiations and report performance.
• Resolve supply, quality and service challenges efficiently.

Are you an experienced Commercial or Account Manager within fresh produce, food, or FMCG looking for your next career step? A leading and highly respected fresh produce business based near Tonbridge, Kent, is seeking an Account Manager to manage day-to-day commercial and operational relationships across retail accounts and grower networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial and operational relationships, overseeing volumes, profitability, OTIF, forecast accuracy, availability, and waste.
• Act as the critical link between supply and demand, ensuring retailer priorities align with grower capabilities.
• Collaborate with UK retail buying, technical, supply chain, and product development teams to shape category plans, range reviews, and seasonal programmes.
• Lead New Product Development (NPD) from concept to launch, working alongside growers on new product varieties, packaging formats, and sustainability initiatives.
• Utilise sales, financial, and market data to identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, support commercial negotiations, and deliver clear performance reports.
• Take the lead in resolving supply, quality, and service challenges efficiently.

Key Requirements

• Proven account management or commercial experience within fresh produce, or food manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of fresh produce supply chains and UK major retailer requirements.
• Strong commercial acumen with confidence in analysing sales, market, and financial data.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive, resilient, and collaborative approach.
