Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland, a leading facilities management provider, seeks an Account Manager to oversee delivery of maintenance services across Hard and Soft Services, ensuring safety and contractual compliance. You will lead a site-based or mobile workforce, report performance, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

The role requires an engineering qualification, management experience in facilities management, IOSH/SMSTS preferred, and strong IT skills including Excel.

Qualifications

  • Qualified in an engineering discipline (academic or professional).
  • Experience managing a site-based or mobile workforce.
  • Health and safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; report and present to clients/senior stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills with advanced Excel capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of reactive and planned maintenance and project works.
  • Ensure safety and quality inspections meet programme and standards.
  • Monitor performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical leadership to direct reports and resolve issues.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Produce clear reports on performance, compliance, risks and improvements.

About The Role:
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all services and works are delivered safely and effectively in accordance with contractual specifications, agreed service-level agreements and customer expectations.
  • Provide technical and operational leadership to direct reports, supporting them in resolving issues and delivering consistently high standards.
  • Manage the delivery of reactive and planned maintenance, Hard and Soft Services, and project works as applicable to the contract.
  • Promote and oversee the completion of quality and health and safety inspections, ensuring works comply with the agreed programme, specification and Construction Phase Plan.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify risks or service-delivery issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the Account Director to support the continued development and improvement of technical knowledge across the contract.
  • Apply and share detailed engineering and site knowledge relating to the client’s property portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, employees, supply-chain partners and relevant external organisations.
  • Support contract retention and business development by identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and add value.
  • Provide technical and operational support to business-development activities when required.
  • Produce and present clear reports covering operational performance, compliance, risks and improvement activity.
Essential Requirements
  • Academically or professionally qualified within a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience within Facilities Management, with responsibility for one or more of the following:
    • Reactive and planned maintenance
    • Hard Services
    • Soft Services
    • Project works
  • Experience managing an operational site-based or mobile workforce.
  • A relevant health and safety qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS.
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of building-services or property-maintenance environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence producing written reports and presenting operational information to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Ability to work flexibly when operational requirements arise.
Working Pattern

Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30.

As this is an Account Manager position, flexibility will be required to support operational requirements outside these hours when necessary.
