What’s the role of an Account Lead?

An Account Lead is a senior member of the Customer Management team responsible for the direction and execution of key account(s). They understand and articulate the customer’s needs; ensuring the team provides high-quality outputs leading to account stability and growth. They are responsible for the financial management of the account(s) and delivering against revenue targets.

The Customer Management team delivers projects for our customers. The Account Lead ensures these projects exceed customer expectations and are delivered within budget.

The Account Lead reports to senior management, including the CEO and Medical Director.

An Account Lead at PharmaReview – and IQVIA Company is responsible for:

  • Providing insights to inform and shape the development of the customer strategic plan and leading the understanding of customer needs throughout the account team
  • Building and maintaining positive and enduring customer relationships across multiple levels; acting as the established point of contact and recognized as a strategic partner
  • Ensuring high-quality delivery of tasks against SLAs by the account team, exceeding all customer expectations
  • Empowering the account team and ensuring consistent quality
  • Identifying key issues and resolving them internally or with customers quickly
  • Building broad networks, participating in developing and delivering new business pitches/RFPs, and contributing to incremental business
  • Demonstrating commitment to exploring optimal ways of working
  • Setting standards for the team
  • Preparing and leading customer Executive Business Review meetings, highlighting excellence and areas for improvement
  • Involvement in account audits and resolution
  • Building effective internal partnerships with other IQVIA departments such as sales to successfully win, retain, and deliver on the account
  • Managing financials and forecast accuracy at the account level, delivering revenue targets
  • Representing the customer internally in operations meetings, financial discussions, senior leadership, townhalls, etc.
  • Mentoring team members to support personal development

Account Leads are ambassadors for PharmaReview, an IQVIA company, helping to build the company's profile and customer base.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

Essential skills:
  • 5+ years’ experience in medical communications, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or regulatory sectors, currently in a senior account management or director role
  • Life Science degree
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in delivering presentations and leading customer pitches
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or managing others
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer partnership skills
  • Problem-solving and solution provision experience
  • Understanding of ABPI, EFPIA, IPHA, and PhRMA codes of conduct
  • Experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats, Aprimo, or similar review systems
  • Location: UK. This role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.
Desirable skills or qualifications:
  • Masters or PhD in life sciences or related business experience
  • Signatory/AQP expertise
  • Medical or Pharmacist qualification
