Job description

The role

We have a great opportunity for an experienced & motivated Account Executive with a general Commercial background to join our team at Jensten Group. Based at our Gosforth office in Newcastle, reporting to the Sales Manager, the main purpose of the role is to retain and grow an existing book of business in the surrounding areas, with a focus on growth. The book consists of long-standing clients with strong relationships with us. Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business. Collaborating with colleagues and managers to improve team performance.
  • Identifying and pursuing cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, utilizing all leads provided, and developing new methods to increase quote volume.
  • Achieving or exceeding targets for quotes, sales, and income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting.
  • Understanding clients' business operations, opportunities, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance.
  • Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.
About you

As an Account Executive, you may inherit an existing book of business to manage and grow, alongside developing your own client connections. You should be able to build and strengthen relationships through client visits and regular communication. A passion for providing solutions and spotting opportunities to benefit clients is essential. You will also ideally have:

  • Experience in the insurance industry, especially in Commercial insurance
  • A passion and flair for new business development
  • An existing client base to bring and grow
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong networking abilities and relationship-building skills
  • A drive to learn and develop within insurance and sales
  • Previous experience in a similar role working with insurers and clients
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask, including updating systems and admin
  • Knowledge of Acturis system (preferable)
