Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking an Access Control / Intercom Engineer for a London-based role with an FM service provider. You will service, maintain and repair access control, door entry and intercom systems across seven high-end residential buildings around Canary Wharf.

The role offers a salary up to £52,000, overtime, training, private healthcare and a company pension, with a 7:30am-5:00pm schedule Monday-Thursday and 7:30-4:00 Friday, plus travel allowance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with access control, door entry and intercom systems in residential or commercial settings.
• Experience carrying out PPMs, servicing and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of Paxton, Videx, BPT, Comelit, Hikvision, TDSi, Gallagher, Honeywell, Salto or similar.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on access control, intercom, and door entry systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform remedial works across high-end residential buildings.
• Install and commission access control and intercom equipment; program devices.
• Attend reactive call-outs and participate in on-call rota as required.
• Liaise with residents and property managers to ensure excellent customer service.
• Prepare service reports and provide recommendations after visits.

Access Control / Intercom Engineer – FM Service Provider – London (Foot Mobile) – £50,000 to £52,000 – CIS or PAYE Options Available

Exciting opportunity to work for an established FM service provider situated in London. CBW are currently recruiting for an Access Control / Intercom Engineer to work across seven high-end residential buildings, primarily around the Canary Wharf area.

The successful candidate will have proven experience servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing access control, door entry and intercom systems within residential or commercial properties. In return, the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £52,000, overtime opportunities, and further technical training and development.

Package & Working Hours

• £50,000 – £52,000 (depending on experience)
• £180 – £220 per day CIS (depending on experience)
• Overtime available
• Working hours: 7.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday & 7.30am – 4.00pm Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) on access control, door entry and intercom systems.
• Diagnosing faults and completing remedial works across a portfolio of high-end residential buildings.
• Servicing and maintaining a wide range of systems including:
  • Audio and video intercom systems
  • Access control systems
  • Door entry systems
  • Magnetic locks and electric strikes
  • Proximity, fob and card access systems
  • Automatic door release systems
  • Gate entry systems (where applicable)
• Installing and replacing access control and intercom equipment as required.
• Programming and commissioning new or replacement devices.
• Attending reactive call-outs and resolving system faults efficiently.
• Participating in a 1-in-3 call-out rota after successfully settling into the role.
• Liaising with residents, site teams and property managers to ensure excellent customer service.
• Completing service reports and providing recommendations following maintenance visits.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with current industry standards and health & safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience working on access control, door entry and intercom systems.
• Experience carrying out PPMs, servicing, repairs and fault-finding.
• Knowledge of systems from manufacturers such as Paxton, Videx, BPT, Comelit, Hikvision, TDSi, Gallagher, Honeywell, Salto or similar.
• Strong understanding of electronic security systems and associated hardware.
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
• ECS Card or CSCS Card (preferred).
• IPAF or PASMA (advantageous but not essential).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to provide references and relevant industry qualifications.
