Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is recruiting a part-time AAA Screening Technician to perform abdominal ultrasound scans within the national programme. After completing the NAAASP course, you will work independently, adhering to standard operating procedures and maintaining accreditation.

You will reassure attendees about the screening, explain implications, and ensure informed consent and safety.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grades 4–9.
• Information Governance training and NAAASP Screening Technician Accreditation.
• General principles of patient confidentiality and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Carry out abdominal ultrasound scans within standard operating procedures.
• Work independently after completing the NAAASP course with supervision available as needed.
• Maintain accreditation with NAAASP and ensure clinics operate within programme guidelines.
• Support clinics to ensure patient care and safety during screening sessions.
