Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Midwife with an interest in ultrasound to train as a Midwife Sonographer. This is a permanent role within our maternity team offering opportunities for career development in fertility, early pregnancy and obstetric ultrasound.

During training you will work a minimum of 30 hours per week, have a dedicated mentor, and start the Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound in September 2026.

Qualifications

• Trainee Midwife Sonographer training pathway.
• Commitment to ultrasound in maternity care.

Responsibilities

• Work a minimum of 30 hours per week in the Maternity Ultrasound Department during training.
• Undertake the Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound starting Sept 2026.
• Be mentored by a named mentor during training.
• Complete Preceptorship on qualification and work across sites.
