Job summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in Halifax is recruiting a Band 6 AAA co-ordinator to lead the operational delivery of the NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme across the West Yorkshire region. The role combines leadership, service management, quality assurance and patient pathway coordination, with base at Calderdale Royal Hospital and 28 hours over four days.

Qualifications

• Education to degree level or working towards or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in field or similar.
• GCSE English and Mathematics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of NHS England Screening Programmes and national screening standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily operational management of the AAA Screening Programme.
• Plan and organise community screening clinics across the service area.
• Monitor patient pathways from invitation through screening, surveillance, referral, and discharge.
• Ensure screening targets and national KPIs are achieved.
• Supervise, support, and provide guidance to screening technicians and administrative staff.
• Manage staff rotas, workload allocation, training and induction.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry onto the national AAA Screening IT system.
• Produce activity reports and service information for managers and commissioners.
• Investigate incidents and service issues and implement actions.
• Lead or participate in clinical audits and quality improvement projects.
